CUSTOM CLASSICS XIII
PIPER PA22 TRIPACER The Tri-Pacer is a remarkable aircraft with performance that matches or exceeds that of its contemporary all metal Cessna 172. It is a full seven feet shorter in length then a 172 and takes off in a shorter distance with a higher cruise speed. The Tri-Pacer wins over its pilots with its performance and it is a delight to fly an aircraft that can get airborne fully loaded in 1,220 feet and land over a 50 foot barrier in 1,280 feet. It stalls at 48 mph and best rate of climb is at 84 mph when it can get 620 feet per minute. At 7,000 and 75% power it will true out at 132 mph and its service ceiling is 15,000. SPECIFICATIONS: Engine Lycoming O-320-B2B HP and RPM 160 hp @ 2700 rpm, Gross Weight 2000 pounds. Empty Weight 1164.5 pounds (with oil). Weight w/ full fuel 1380.5 pounds. Useful Load with Full Fuel 619.5 pounds. Wing Span 29.3 feet . Wing Area 147.5 square feet. Wing Cord 5.25 feet. Length 20.6 feet. Height 8.33 feet. Power Loading 12.5 lbs/hp. Wing Loading 13.5 lbs/sq. ft. Baggage Capacity 100 pounds. Fuel Capacity 36 gallons. There is included in this folder pictures of a 1959 Piper TriPacer Sales Brochure on which this model is based. Today the PA22 remains popular as a classic aircraft. Thank you for selecting this model and we hope you enjoy flying it!
PANEL: There is no need for a 2d
panel therefore none are put in to obstruct the view! If you desire, the virtual cockpit pan rate can be adjusted in your main fs9.cfg file from the default 400 to 900 which allows much faster more realistic panning using the hat switch. These aircraft have been designed so that 75% zoom should be used in the Virtual Cockpit. I would highly recommend getting the great Active Camera program and setting head latency at 0.5 ! It has literally transformed our flightsimming and we couldn't fly with out it now!!!!! Pilot and Passenger/Cargo: Before each flight you should add the pilot to the plane using the "O" key(normal strobe lights) You can add the optional passengers or cargo using the "/" key(normal spoiler key) Adding the passengers or cargo will cause some degradation in performance! DO NOT USE THE "L" KEY TO OPERATE THE LIGHTS!!! USE THE SWITCHES ON THE PANEL!!!!
Virtual Cockpit Operation: The virtual cockpit concept has been expanded
to include a complete virtual aircraft! This we call Virtual Plus or V+.
This means that by using the hotspots and Active Camera or the included VP Movement
Arrows you can open the door, do the complete walk around preflight, open the cowling,
check the oil, drain fuel sumps, remove tie downs etc thus further enhancing flight
simming ! Use the "Hot Spots" assignments as shown below and you will have
a new and fun experience! Be sure to call out "Contact" of course when starting
the engine! If you don't have Active Camera you can still do some limited movement using
the "move eyepoint" key assignments or the Movement Arrows as shown in the
pictures below! When you have moved outside of the aircraft in VC mode click on the
service aircraft hotspot beneath the cowling to get started! In some of the included
flights the fuel tanks are only partly filled requiring you to fuel the aircraft before
flying!
Radio/CD Player Operation The Radio/CD player can be used to play your favorite music while you fly!! You can assign your own favorite sounds by going to "windowed mode" and right clicking on the each preselect AM/FMbutton! If you experience poor flight sim performance when the Silvaires are used it may be that your video card or operating system will not handle the radio/cd player. You can disable the radio/cd player by removing the radiocdl.gau file from your gauges folder! The Radio/cd player has been generously provided by Rob Clark! Thank you Rob for enriching our flight simming experience!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GPS Operation The GPS was created by Chuck Dome
and generously allowed to be used by others in small aircraft like these. It contains 3775
world wide waypoints. It comes with 3,775 waypoints The upper left
portion of the gauge displays a pointer to the chosen waypoint. To the right, the top
number simply identifies the waypoint for possible future reference. The next number
indicates the distance to the waypoint in nautical miles. The third line displays the
selected region of the world, and the fourth line displays the selected state or
nation-state. The bottom line displays the selected airport name.
The airports are arranged in the following In Chuck's words:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERSONALIZED HANGAR MACRO: We have included in this folder your personalized hangar API Macro, Pa22hang1.api. You can use it and one of the many freeware scenery packages to place your hangar at any airport in the flightsim world! Place your newly compiled BGL into the Addon Scenery/Scenery folder and your hangar at your favorite airport should appear when you boot up Fs2004! Happy scenery making! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERSONALIZATION: To personalize your registration numbers just select the desired aircraft in the fs2004 menu and change the registration numbers to whatever country and numbers that you want. Note to repainters: You can designate the panel.n folder on the aircraft.cfg and there will be no numbers displayed on the fuselage if you so desire. The photos in each plane can be replaced with your own as long as they are named "photo.bmp" and are 256x256 pixels square and at a color depth of 256 colors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wonderful GES Guys who suffer through all the beta testing and keep us going through
the rough spots! |
